East Bengal vs Al-Shorta LIVE Score, AFC Champions League Two: East Bengal have squandered the lead twice and trail Al-Shorta 2-3 in the second half of their AFC Champions League Two group stage match, in Kolkata on Tuesday. In the first half, East Bengal striker David Lalhlansanga Hmar fired them into an early lead in the seventh minute with a brilliant turn-and-shoot goal. Al-Shorta, the Iraqi runners-up, equalised just seven minutes later, as defender Ahmed Yahya headed in a goal. David then put East Bengal back in front in the 41st minute, tapping it in from the rebound of a free-kick. David had the chance to score three more goals in the dying minutes of the first half, but poor finishing let him down. In the second half, Al-Shorta’s Hussein Ali and Kingsley Kuku scored twice in two minutes to put the visitors in front.
Playing at home for the first time in ACL 2, East Bengal are eyeing their first win of the campaign. The red and gold brigade squandered a two-goal lead and drew 2-2 against Al-Hussein in their first Group D game. Antonio Lopez Habas’ side is also aiming to bounce back from the disappointment of losing the IFA Shield final to arch-rivals Mohun Bagan.
